How Much Does a Helicopter Tour in Nepal Cost?
With a helicopter you hire the whole aircraft, so what each person pays depends mostly on how many of you share it. Here are our 2026 prices, and what makes them go up or down.

The first question everyone asks is "how much per person?", and the honest answer is: it depends how many of you there are. A helicopter costs exactly the same to fly whether it carries one passenger or five. The full price is shared between everyone on board, so the more seats you fill, the less each person pays.

Why the Everest flight costs more
It isn't just the distance. Everest flights stop at Lukla to refuel on the way up and again on the way back. Kala Patthar is 5,644 m high, and the thin air up there limits how much a helicopter can lift, so the pilot may need two short hops to bring a full group up. On top of that, landing sites in the Khumbu charge their own fees.
Shared seats: the cheapest way for one or two people
Travelling solo or as a couple? Ask to join a shared departure. On busy routes such as Everest, Annapurna Base Camp and Langtang, we can often fill a helicopter with other travellers flying the same day, and each seat costs the 5-person price. You'll just need to be a little flexible with your date.
What can change the price
- Where you start: flying to Annapurna or Muktinath from Kathmandu costs a lot more than starting in Pokhara.
- Extra landings or waiting time: every extra stop adds flying and ground time.
- Permits: Upper Mustang's restricted-area permit alone is US$500 per person.
- The season: fuel prices and demand in October and November can nudge prices a little. Rest assured, we confirm your price when you book, and it won't change after that.

Questions
Is there a weight limit?
For the Everest landing, the pilot needs each passenger's weight the day before. If a group's total weight is high, the pilot may take you up to Kala Patthar in two hops, but don't worry: the price stays the same.
Do children pay full price?
Yes. Every passenger over one year old needs their own seat. Babies under one can sit on a parent's lap on lower flights, though we wouldn't recommend taking them to the high landings.
Can I pay a deposit?
Yes. You can pay in full online when you book, or ask to pay a 25% deposit by bank transfer and settle the balance before the flight.
